Students in Mrs. Olive’s class at McCullough Elementary School recently completed a unit on animal habitats and basic needs. As part of the lesson, students learned how animals rely on specific environments, food sources, and water to survive.
To conclude the unit, students participated in a hands-on activity in which they created an animal of their choice using clay, with assistance from staff. They then illustrated the animal’s habitat and identified the resources it would need, such as food, water, and shelter.
