Penn-Trafford 5th Graders Explore History at Bushy Run Battlefield

During October, 5th-grade students from Penn-Trafford School District’s five elementary schools visited the nearby Bushy Run Battlefield for an immersive history experience.

Students spent the morning rotating through five educational stations led by museum volunteers. Activities included learning about trading for various goods, touring the battlefield, watching a film about the Battle of Bushy Run, exploring the museum, and participating in a presentation on furs and trading. The field trips offered students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the Battle of Bushy Run, Pontiac's War, and the events that shaped our region.
