McCullough Elementary Launches MC2GO Snack Cart

During the 2024-2025 school year, McCullough Elementary School in the Penn-Trafford School District introduced an exciting new initiative designed to foster life skills and social development among its Autistic Support students. The program, called MC2GO, is a student-run snack cart that serves school staff.

Spearheaded by Student Learning Assistant Ms. Sara Quatse and supported by Principal Dr. Coiner, MC2GO provides students in grades 3 through 5 with a unique opportunity to take on real-world responsibilities in a supportive environment. With parental permission, students "work" the cart by preparing, organizing, and delivering snacks to faculty and staff throughout the building.

“We wanted to give the students a chance to work on social skills and work-related skills for when they have the opportunity to work at the snack shop at PMS and the coffee shop at PTHS,” explained teacher Ms. Mindy Olive.

From taking orders to managing inventory and interacting with staff, MC2GO has given students a meaningful, hands-on experience that builds confidence and independence. “The kids and staff have really enjoyed it!” Olive added.
