After the devastation inflicted by Hurricane Helene in October, Penn-Trafford parents Stephanie Briggs and Heather Morocco, along with the Penn-Trafford School District, Geiger Plumbing, and Manor Grille joined together to collect supplies and monetary donations for the hardest-hit areas in Florida and North Carolina.
The communities of Penn-Trafford and Franklin Regional were encouraged to drop off donations at their football game on October 11. Collection zones were set up at every ticket booth, and cleaning supplies, non-perishable food, clothing, household items, and hygiene products were collected and loaded into waiting Geiger Plumbing trucks.
Additional donations were collected at the Manor Grille (Irwin, PA) before the caravan of vehicles departed the P.T. community for their southern destinations.
Now months later, we’ve received these photos from the collection, the loaded vehicles, and the distribution. We’re told by our parents that conditions were more dire than they expected. And we pass along their heartfelt message of thanks.
