McCullough Students Are Published Authors

The third graders of McCullough Elementary School are published authors.  Teachers Mrs. Suman and Mrs. Ohl collaborated on the project, with each of their classrooms contributing to the literary works.

Mrs. Suman’s class penned When We Grow Up which detailed each student’s career aspiration.  Mrs. Ohl's class wrote The Pencil vs. The Crayon, for which students each chose a color and then wrote about why that color of crayon is better than a pencil.

The teachers threw a ‘Publishing Party’ in early May to celebrate the arrival of the finished books.  Mrs. Suman’s students dressed in the profession they had chosen, and Mrs. Ohl’s students dressed in the color of their crayons.  The third-graders were proud to visit the kindergarten and first-grade classes to read their books aloud. “They were fantastic,” commented Mrs. Suman.  “We are so proud of how hard they worked on their books and they loved seeing their final page in print.”
