It has become an annual tradition of the Penn-Trafford School District to honor veterans, active-duty military and first responders at a home football game, and this year the event took place on Friday, September 15.
As a way to thank them for their service, PT invited the honored guests to a pre-game dinner at the Warrior Center which sits adjacent to the stadium. After dining on pulled pork, chicken, salad and cake, the guests were escorted to the sideline for a pre-game recognition and medley of US Armed Forces songs as well as the National Anthem, performed by the PTHS Marching Band.
A 10’ x 20’ American flag (provided by Jim Shorkey Auto), suspended by a HCVFD fire-truck ladder, flew near the Warrior endzone. The Penn-Trafford student section added patriotic presence with its red, white and blue theme.
