New Classroom Materials Make Learning Fun

Mrs. Jamie Shaffer’s first-grade students at McCullough Elementary School are benefitting from a DonorsChoose funding campaign called “Learning is Fun!”  The campaign enabled Shaffer to acquire a variety of STEAM materials including building blocks, magnetic sticks, and different tiles for her classroom.

Shaffer looks forward to using the new kits during her lessons, and also letting her students use them during center time and indoor recess.  “During this time, the students will be using their imaginations and learning from one another,” says Shaffer.  “They had so much fun designing their own structures out of a variety of materials.   Learning through play is so important!”
