Mrs. Kimberly Ohl, a 3rd-grade teacher at McCullough Elementary School, was able to equip her classroom with flexible seating with a grant through DonorsChoose (a crowdfunding resource for teachers).
“Students learn best when they are in a comfortable and inviting environment,” she said. “My students will be more engaged in their work and less distracted by their peers if they are given an option of where to work and are able to spread out throughout the classroom.”
Mrs. Ohl received beanbags, reclining floor seats, round floor cushions, and a large rug. Her students make daily use of the new seats.
