Students Explore Bushy Run Battlefield

During October, the 5th graders of Penn-Trafford School District’s five elementary schools enjoyed field trips to the nearby Bushy Run Battlefield.

The students spent the morning rotating among five stations which were designed to teach them about the Battle of Bushy Run and Pontiac's War.  The stations were led by volunteers from the museum and included a lesson on trading for various goods, a guided tour of the battlefield, a movie about the Battle of Bushy Run, a tour of the museum, and a presentation on furs and trading.
