Fourth-grade students at McCullough Elementary School enjoyed a game of musical chairs…with a vocabulary twist!
To practice weekly vocabulary words, students danced around the room to music. When the music stopped, they each had to find the nearest vocabulary paper. On that paper, students filled in a box with a detail about the word, such as synonym, antonym, part of speech, symbol, example, or another form of the word. “The learners had fun movin' and groovin' as they mastered vocabulary skills,” commented teacher Mrs. Kessler.
